“The body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissue rather than a collection of separate parts. These connective tissues surround, support and penetrate all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. This is the stuff that shapes us and gives us both stability and mobility.”
-Rich Ennis
If you didn’t know our Team SophroSYNC founder Brittany has a background in massage therapy, fascial mobility & fitness for better recovery and movement.
We strongly support the massage & recovery industry and its benefits for every single person. Releasing tension and creating blood flow is always a fantastic feeling and also sometimes very needed for injury prevention and stress release.
Have you heard of Fascia before?
It’s a band or sheet of connective tissue just beneath the skin. It attaches, stabilizes, encloses and separates muscles and internal organs. Primarily made up of collagen and water. It is one of the most important things to consider yet so easily overlooked. Having your fascia released & learning how to maintain that mobility is one of the most amazing things you can do for all areas of your life!
What can treating your fascia help with?
Focusing on your fascial meridians not just in a recovery setting but a training program even can take you leaps and bounds. I once read a quote that said “how you spend your days is how your fascia is shaped” - thinking of all the problem we create just in our daily routine. Poor movement patterns, hunched over a desk, sitting for long periods, standing for long periods, the way you stand for long periods, repetitive motions like RMT’s usually end up doing... I could go on for days. The point is it’s so true. Releasing your fascia can give you better sleep, less water retention, improved movement patterns, reduced chronic pain, increased range of motion, and quicker recovery. No matter what stage you’re at in your fitness journey, or even just life, you could benefit from making fascia a priority in your wellness routine.
Fascia is often what people say is the missing puzzle piece to their recovery and fitness.
FASCIAL MOBILITY TRAINING
ALBERTA COLLEGE OF MASSAGE THERAPY
I love that 45 minutes can do so much in a fascial mobility setting. Treating adhesions that are difficult to get with traditional massage therapy or stretching alone. By focusing on what the body’s limitations are I can work through the range of motion to release tension and create ease in mobility.
Our online platform Lifestyle Lessons has SELF MASSAGE and RECOVERY & MOBILITY aspects to help ensure you are equipped with the tools you need to feel and look your best even if you can’t make it to a massage appointment whenever those muscles feel tense.
