Lesson 6

“We cannot become who we want by remaining who we are.”

This week we’re talking all about protein! Why we need them, their role within our body, how they digest, how much you should be eating and how to introduce more protein into your diet!

Satiation will ensure you’re sticking to a long term and sustainable ‘diet’. The trick to staying satisfied is fibre, water and PROTEIN! Anatomically, protein is essential for composing our connective tissues, maintaining a functioning immune system and ensuring our bodily systems are running correctly. Nutritionally, protein takes much longer to break down which allows us to feel full & satiated for longer! It’s important to remember that protein is just as essential as carbohydrates and fats. Protein is often held on a petestool. Remember that eating too little or too much of any food group won’t help you! Thus, figuring out the correct protein range to consume that suits your lifestyle and activity needs will be key. Read this week’s lesson to calculate your own protein needs for your lifestyle.

Things To Remember

Fill out your daily check-in form each day, as well as your weekly recap each Saturday before noon!

Each lesson topic will have a daily or weekly challenge (sometimes both!). You don’t have to master these all at once.

Remember our goal with these challenges is to have you integrating these habits into your daily and weekly routines.

Try your best but be honest about whether you’ve completed the challenges or not- this is only hindering your own success because we will not be able to offer you additional help and resources!
